What got me were the number of stupid people on TV who are saying he needs to turn himself in so that his complaints can be heard, that if he doesn't come in no one's going to listen to him. Oh yeah, right, he should turn himself in so he can face a guaranteed death sentence. Really smart there. I've looked at this, and the thing that strikes me most, is that nobody has said a goddamn thing of any significance to offer him a single reason to want to turn himself in. Despite his claims that he considers himself "dead" I don't think he wants to die, and not offering him a way out means that he's not going to turn himself in and there's no incentive for him to stop killing cops for as long as he can. I mean, if he considered himself dead and didn't care, he'd pull a Timothy McVeigh in front of Parker Center and strike a huge blow at the police department. Or do something like the Bank of America Shootout when those two guys with bulletproof vests and body armor tried robbing a B of A in North Hollywood and the cops found themselves mostly outgunned. Cutting the phone lines at a police precinct and putting in a cell-phone jammer plus automated weapons connected to a motion detector so anyone trying to leave gets shot would definitely cause problems. Especially if he set it up as an automated system so that police from other precincts come up there, but he's not in that area, and when the other cops show up, he's got a second line of automated weapons able to shoot at the cops trying to save the ones trapped in the precinct. They should be glad this guy is only slightly mad at them instead of on a real vendetta and ready to act in the manner I mention above. Hell, he knows police procedure, he'd know how to rob banks in such a way to evade police attention, he could probably get unlimited funds that way for what he couldn't otherwise steal. |
