Fuck these interrogations by fabio 02/05/2013, 2:53pm PST
It's funny because they're both the best and worst part of the game. In fact, almost every aspect of this game is taking adventure game elements and both improving them while making them worse.

Interrogations:

This should have been Phoenix Wright. How do you fuck it up? By arbitrary ESP bullshit guesswork. A lady says the man behind her was shot and on the ground by the time she turned around. Truth because it's completely fucking plausible and I don't have evidence to say otherwise. WRONG IT WAS LIE. Proof? A bank statement on earrings she was making payments on. That's the fucking smoking gun that gets her to talk? Later on a wife says her missing husband went out last night with a brand new pair of glasses. Ah ha but now I have proof that isn't true because an old repaired pair of his was found at the crime scene. I present the evidence and it's the wrong answer, questioning totally shut down as it shuffles me off to the next teleportation driving sequence regardless because none of this shit matters except to increase your score to earn more hints to get higher scores to get more hints.

Object finding:

You're still going around clicking on every possible surface. You don't have to keep an inventory but you also have to pointlessly rotate everything to find the sweet spot. Was this thing started as a Wii launch title? What is this Silent Hill Shattered Memories shit?

Parkour! (parknoire?):

Theoretically the rooftop chase scenes from Beyond Good & Evil. Actually bullshit that rides the line between scripted auto-win and bullshit minigame. Fuck the warning shot mechanic.

Driving:

I wonder what percentage of the development time was spent on this garbage that everyone ends up skipping.

Shooting:

The sprint button and take cover at wall button are the same! Holy shit.

I'll probably keep playing because no one's done facial expression better to this day, but I'm constantly reminded by the developers that they did such a GREAT JOB on it that it should allow me to read minds.

The actual story...I feel like anyone who's watched L.A. Confidential can already tell everything that's going to happen.
