Automating Content Delivery by Ice Cream Jonsey 12/09/2012, 1:23pm PST
Two questions here. One, tell me if this sort of thing would be desired. Two, tell me how it would work.

One thing that I think would be cool would be a service that, two or three times a week, would find some gaming headline and start a thread on it. Something that included the link and a quote. Then we can all give our opinions and yell at each other like we normally do.

Would that be useful? Cool? Would having a more-or-less automated source of content cause people to post more? To give their thoughts? I have been trying to dig up posts and it's fine when I have time for things like right now, but when I get busy again I wouldn't be able to do it.

The second is the "how": I am thinking of putting together something that imported RSS feeds from a few sources: RPS, Blue's, Stuart Campbell's blog, Yahtzee, IGN, whatever. I go to this page, and I can then click a button which fires off some code that grabs that RSS headine and posts it here on Caltrops. Perhaps there's a drop down menu that lets me select the forum it gets pasted to. And then I could give this page to other people who might want a way to click and start threads.

Curious as to what people thing. One of the things I always liked about Planethate was that the topics were used as a launching point for everyone to reply to.
