I found KoToR 1 solid, but....alright.
Aside from technical issues, I found Bloodlines more fun and interesting in every way. Good dialogue and plot really carry an RPG (Planescape). Ignore ICJ's opinion to the contrary; Bloodlines completely trumps KotoR in that department. Maybe one of the characters in Bloodlines had some sort of similarity to the Fantastic Four and it shorted out his ability to enjoy the game.
Another advantage it has over KoToR is having much less dungeon crawling. I really got bored slogging through bases cutting down dozens of pushover enemies with my horrible party AI (and I'm still being bored by it in KoToR 2). Vampires only makes you crawl about 3-4 times the entire game. Yeah the nosferatu sewer level sucks, but so does the endless enemy respawning of the KoToR star forge, and at least you can quickly use cheats to spare yourself the sewer level. |
