I wouldn't say the failure was part of a bigger plan ICJ, just a convenient turn of events if they spin it right to their own base. It's like the mention made of Kerry after his run - people are going to be telling themselves they have no idea where the fuck anyone came up with Romney, and Ryan is perceivable as the same kind of bleach-drinking crazy as Lieberman. As losses go, this is the kind of loss that can be a boon to the party at large - as opposed to a Jeb Bush run that lost, etc.
I'd give anything for a useful opposition party, mind you. If they lived up to their alleged principles of small-government-limited-spending-no-gays for all of a second we'd be far closer to actually checking this awful neo-mercantilist shit. |
