It's fairly "meh" all around. The best part is transforming into a dragon, but that's so late in the game and it becomes tedious after a while. The game is fun at first, but suffers horribly from crazy-ass fantasy names for everything. I stopped caring about 3-4 hours in who was what and why.
About halfway through it felt more grindy that fun. The expansion pack is nearly mandatory, as the standalone ends with a WTF that is picked up seamlessly with the expansion. Overall if you're a fan of RPGs, then sure, it's a "B" game with a few "A" highlights. If you're not a fan, skip.
