| JuiceDefender: Hit the on button, double your battery life. It does that by killing the data radios more and more agressively. I think I have it set to wake them up every 30 minutes, poll for email and what have you, and turn back off. In practive all you notice is it takes some extra time to do anything when you unlock your phoen while it sets up those connections.
Battery Monitor Widget: Great fucking name. :( This will tell you exactly how many mAH are left in your battery, what the discharge rate has been over time, and some predictions until dead based on various usage cases. K-9 Mail / Handycent: The default mail/text apps in my phone are the worst. These are not. Handycalc: I hate shitty calculators. This will let you use variables and do crazy shit for those problems you can't just solve in your head. Also does currency and unit conversions. Wifi Analyzer: shows signal strengths and channels of nearby networks. Useful once to set the base channel of your access point, and then it's just funny curves. Google Sky: point it at the sky, it tells you what stars you're looking at. Not too useful in the city, but someday I might use it. Shortyz: Like crossword puzzles? Want to have hours of them in your phone at all times to kill time? Sound Meter: Want to know how loud it is someplace? I don't know if I trust it to be that accurate but it has seemed to match up to what I think it should be showing. |
