I am reminded of an anecdote from the late Patrice O'Neal where he mused that fat women are always given jobs like meter maids because they've never had any power in their life and now that they have this tiny scrap of authority, they will turn into tiny tin-pot dictators applying their newfound power without discretion. A 6'4" muscular state trooper, on the other hand, will often cut you a break for good reason because he's had a decent measure of power his whole life and he employs it with discretion and maturity.
