| Zero Hour's campaigns drove me nuts because they repeated all the bad mistakes of early RTS design: Commando missions featuring one essential unit that can't die but often does to a cheap shot until you learn the routine and making units that would make the mission a cinch become mysteriously unavailable just for that one mission. The final Chinese mission was awful in this respect, forcing you to blitz through areas rapidly while a timer counted down with ZERO air units.
The one where you had infinite naval artillery to just fucking flatten the surrounding city into a crater was fun though. And I agree that my least favorite general was the GLA infiltration one because of his fucking bullshit soldier spawns that would burn down your superweapon/command center/whatever before you could react, unless you put snipers all around your base. |
