It would sometimes crash during gigantic chain reaction explosions on some maps, other than that I didn't really have any technical problems with it.
In any case, I think that Silent Storm and the Sentinels addon are the best sequels to XCOM made to date, without actually being sequels (though with a secret mission where you can aquire the game breakingly powerful XCOM laser rifle). If you haven't played them yet, you're missing out.
The turn based combat part is very detailed with tons of different weapons; mechanics for sneaking and shit; destructible buildings where you can shoot holes in walls, floors and ceilings and climb through; buildings will also collapse under their own weight if damaged enough in the wrong (right) spots; and lots of other shit I can't be bothered to list. It's the kind of gameplay you wish Jagged Alliance: Back In Action had been.
When playing Sentinels, make sure to look up a gamefaq. Because, you have the choice between four missions at a time, and one of them advances the game to the next set of missions, without possibility of going back to play the remaining missions from the previous set. So of course you'll want to choose the game-advancing mission last each time. |
