the best parts of this game are on par with the average mass effect experience
if you like stealth stuff it's got it, and you aren't capped at how many stealth takedowns you can do. if you like story stuff it's got it, with this intricate plot just a little less believable than a mission impossible movie. if you like dialogue it's there, characters are there, basically it has all of the parts of a good game and if you're in the mood for stealth/pistol action it's cool. also the cover stuff is just 'oh there's boxes croutch behind them if you don't want to get shot in the face' rather than the sticky cover I only tolerated in me
me: better graphics, less minor bugs, weaker dialogue, tedious combat
that boss at the end of taipei is a precursor to deux ex second boss, though. shoots at you, runs up and melees through you. by the time I got in the room I had 9 bullets left and it sets the last save point in that room so no more bullets for me. I got him down to about 10% health but the cheap way they handled that meant I had to go through another round of damage before I could kill him and welp. |
