Fun is not enough!? by Worm 05/02/2012, 9:16am PDT

Yesterday (or this morning's) penny arcade really irked me. Beside the entire framing being a guy talking to his cat and the third panel pay off not being funny at all, it kind of surprised me that having a "living quest system"(what?) or "epic storyline" really matter to someone more than a game being fun. Tera is a lot of fun and a lot of tits and ass. The story isn't that interesting, except main storyline progression quests which are kind of neat and I guess the quests aren't living ... whatever that means.

I guess the main issue is that since the whole MMORPG genre just is too many things to too many people. So people end up jizzing their pants whenever something really focuses on a problem they had with previous games. This is pretty obvious whenever a game includes some kind of special hardcore PVP or hardcore content, it just excited the hell out of a certain subset of people. Also if anyone wants to post a youtube that explains why Guild Wars 2's quests are living and what that means, that would be fantastic.
