| If nothing else, it proves the Japs are still the only ones who can make a decent Metroid clone. Here's how boring Shadow Complex is: it's a side-scrolling adventure game, with 3D turret sequences. You get on a mounted machinegun, the camera swivels around to an over-the-shoulder view, then generic masked terrorists pour out of doors and take up firing positions behind exploding barrels until the game decides you've had enough for now. It's exactly the sort of thing you'd imagine coming from a Salt Lake City-based developer named Chair Entertainment (whose logo is, I'm not kidding, an actual literal chair). It also enjoys an 88/100 on Metacritic, so maybe it gets less depressing later on? | ||||
