The came can pretty much be called after the first turn. Sort of cool, way way too long for the fun density. The new version is out, but I really can't ever see myself playing this again. For the money and WW2 theme, you could buy Memoir '44 which is apparently extremely good. I can't say that I am a gamemaster fan -- mostly an exercise in pushing plastic around.
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks
There is a free to play PC version on Steam.
It is the exact same game and rules as Battle Cry, a simplistic and extremely silly Civil War game, only now with a WWII skin.
Basically the board is divided into thirds (left, center, right) and you take turns playing cards that say "move X units on Y section". This sort of made sense in a Civil War game where battlefield communication was muddy, but WWII?
Then there's the silly victory condition of whoever loses 6 units first loses the game. So each side can only move 1-3 units per turn and lose once 6 units are killed. This means it doesn't matter how badly you outnumber your opponent. There is no difference between 10-1 and 1-1 odds. Whichever side starts off in a defensive position with more cards wins, period. The North couldn't win a single scenario in Battle Cry because their numerical advantage meant nothing.
Now you replace them with plastic tanks.
