| In opposition to SOPA and PIPA I have put a blackout page up on my site at paul-robinson.us which has a click-through at the bottom to actually continue on to my site, where I discuss the issue.
This sort of draconian copyright legislation is ridiculous and unnecessary and I have to go along with opposing it publicly as well. I posted a reference to the article I added to my site two years ago, "The Last Words of Lasantha Wikrematunge" written by an editor in Sri Lanka who was murdered because of his opposition to government policies, who explained, in a prescient article he wrote predicting his own murder, quoting Martin Niemuller, from his famous poem, "First they came for the Jews / and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew," that even if it doesn't directly have an effect upon us, we need to oppose this sort of thing. If you want to do something, go to my site and get the link to copy the page or go to the original page sopastrike.com, and if you run a website, consider putting it up. Thank you. |
