Frozen Synapse was the first game where I felt as if it got the scope and timing right. The turns are suitably short, the interface for issuing orders is very simple, and the units don't get up to a lot of complex stuff (no fiddling with inventories, equipping different weapons etc). I'm not sure if there was a lot of random rolls in LSN, but with Frozen Synapses hard little systems I always feel as if it's me fucking up, not my little men. |
