It had a better frame rate, tighter controls, deadlier weapons, weirder enemies, more replayable levels, a less embarrassing story (with an ending) (presented in SKIPPABLE cutscenes), no godawful boating stages, and the best curling minigame in any FPS ever. Also, every single NPC companion was funnier and more likeable than Alex. EVEN THE ROBOT. In fairness, Half-Life 2 had better facial animation and more realistic physics puzzles, so if you love looking at faces while you wait for them to stop talking at you, and using floating barrels to float open a sewer gate for your sewer boat, I can maybe see how you might come to the conclusion that Half-Life 2 was the better game. Otherwise, I would just think you're crazy. |
