I got through the tutorial but haven't been able to login since.

Pros:
* It certainly helps a lot to see actual DC characters instead of Captain Hero and the Terrific Team. Even if it's a Brainiac minion that you never heard of, you are at least familiar with Brainiac.
* Travel powers at level 1! I tried superspeed, it's pretty awesome and fast and fun and it lets you run up and across vertical surfaces. Super awesome. I don't think there's any cooldown period or any restrictions at all.
* In combat my dude has this giant two-handed maul with arcane runes and a claw-end. Pretty satisfying because even though you're doing 10 damage or something it still LOOKS like you are a full-fledged supervillain.

Cons:
* The character creation screen only has about 20% of the options in City of Heroes and maybe even fewer options than Champions Online.
* The armor you pick up appears on your character model. BOO! This is fine in WoW or something where everybody starts out with a generic model. But, in a superhero game there is more focus on original costumes/themes and visible armor fucks that all up. You want your Aquaman clone to look like Aquaman, but now in DCU he's going to look like Aquaman wearing combat boots, a wizards robe, bionic arms, and fox ears if that's the best equipment you have available. Enjoy your slutty business-slut? You'll enjoy her even more with this viking helmet, baggy cargo pants, and leather duster! I wanted to see if there's an option to disable this crap but I can't log in.
* Epic Powers powerset lets you spend points to get iconic powers/costume pieces such as Batarangs, Golden Lasso, Flash Wings and so on. Again, this is just a way for people to make their characters look like garbage. "I'm sure glad DC let that topless cowboy with a raccoon tail and Daft Punk helmet equip himself with Batarangs. Batman probably recruited that guy directly. I can picture them now, Batman personally selected this jackass. This asshole probably knows where the Batcave is." Although, I guess that it's better to complain about people ruining DC icons with their shitty designs than it is to complain that DC won't make an MMORPG for fear of people ruining their icons.
