Bachmann calls out Perry on resident tuition for illegal aliens by Tansin A. Darcos (TDARCOS) 10/01/2011, 7:09am PDT
Texas allows children who were brought into the country illegally through no fault of their own to attend state schools at the same price as a legal resident who has been there the same amount of time. So now Michelle Bachmann has basically said (in response to Perry's comment that it was the compassionate thing to do) that the other republicans have compassion but they also have a head, and someone who's in the country illegally shouldn't get any special privileges.

What is kind of surprising that Perry would care anything about anyone making less than 9 figures. But I have to figure it has to do with the general constituency in Texas in that allowing children of illegals to get in-state tuition rates increases the economy in the state, since educated people are likely to become employers.
