In the first 3 episodes there's supposed to be some tension I guess as to who the DEA informant is, mainly the fact that it could be Jesse.
Then in episode 4 they just flat out tell you that it was "Crazy 8", aka the bathtub guy.
So wait. Wouldn't he have told them about Jesse, who is currently not a suspect in both his partners' disappearance? Why were the DEA guys placing bets on "Captain Cook's" ethnicity when Crazy 8 should have already told them? More so, why did Hank declare victory in the bet when they read the arrested perp's (Crazy 8) name? If they didn't already know their informant would be in the house, wouldn't they at least recognize him name and therefore know he wasn't Captain Cook?
Did they just work out the plot as they went? |
