The Office is a remake of a British sitcom. Too many major action films are remakes of graphic novels ("one off comic books") and some short stories.
It's like the ability to think about new ideas has been forgotten by Hollywood, they don't seem to have new ideas to think about.
I am thinking about how big the first "The Matrix" was, because it was something fresh and new, and absolutely nobody had ever done anything like it before.
"Citizen Kane" wasn't a new idea in film-making, all of the stuff they did was there before. It was the way they did it, recognizing that film is a new medium and it has a new way of saying things that other media like radio, plays and books can't do. |
