I have a long history of trying to be both literate and polite. When I say something I want people to respect my opinions, and if I'm routinely a miserable prick I'm unlikely to get people to listen to what I have to say. Because if you don't want people to read you, why bother writing anything unless you do it for intellectual masturbation?
