is terrible. It's a MMO in evey sense. Actual skill or tactics is nothing compared to equipment, and to get it you either have to poopsock or pay for it.
It amazes me how League of Legends is the most successful non-facebook freemium game ever and no one follows its "cash for cosmetics only" model.
There is one game that follows it: Champions Online, an MMO in every sense of the word, as you said, but a free-to-play game whose business model is built almost entirely on buying costume pieces and sets for characters. They do put out some "devices" but it's still mostly about looks rather than anything else. |
