If a player joins the game of someone who has completed a quest they have not, they will not get credit for completing any of the quests that session. If the level 3 joins a game hosted by a level 1 he just replays quests he's beat with no quest exp awarded. Either way they SHOULD be able to play together regardless.
The best method is to just park the level 1s in town while the big boys go shoot some monsters, the exp awarded should catch them up quickly, although that's more of a way to cross-level alt characters from 1 to 20. Like I said before, nothing really happens until level 10. |
