1.) The L button is a shortcut to talk/check on the overworld, and is the same as the A button in combat, meaning that you can essentially play one-handed unless something particularly strange comes up. Great for all those times you feel like eating, laying down, or talking on the phone while you play. And I'm sure that somewhere, SOMEONE has jerked off while playing Earthbound. =(
2.) When you take damage in combat, it doesn't subtract it out of your life total immediately. Instead, your life starts counting down in real-time, giving you a short amount of time to heal the damage from an attack that would otherwise kill you if you took too long. Makes the combat very fast-paced and fun. |
