| Everything else is just insufferable long-winded horseshit and introducing more and more characters that you can't even begin to give a fuck about. Meanwhile he's procrastinated so long on it that we all know how it's going to end. Jon Snow is Robert Baratheon's bastard son and he's going to wind up marrying Daenerys once she (FINALLY) crosses the sea, putting an end to the Lannisters while reuniting Westeros underneath the two of them. I'm fucking stunned.
Arya is so annoying I began to skip the parts involving her. Same with the crippled Stark. I put down book 2 about halfway through after he insisted on writing like 10-15 pages of Greyjoy fondling a trollop. That fat bastard never fails to mention if a character is stark naked and his penis is flopping around. If the thing was like 150 pages shorter and focused more on killing and scheming than midgets fondling hookers I would have read it cover to cover. The TV show actually cast some nice looking people and seems to be focused on the nerd-lure of cheap cinemax sex though, so it may wind up a better series than book! |
