So far so good! Sticking to my low-salt, low-fat diet will be tough while at work, though. It's easy to fall back into the vending machine habit, and there's a not-very-healthy deli in the building too. Brutal.
People ask me, "is it weird to be back at work?" Yes, kinda, because people were hugging me today. But no, the weird part was not being at work. Being away for 2 months, that's a major disruption. Now I can roll my eyes at the insane requests from our users and watch Archer clips on youtube with my coworkersbe productive, which is good for the self esteem. Also weird: not living at my apartment for 2 months, and I won't go back until march, so really 3 months. And I couldn't drive for over a month either. After awhile, I started carrying my keys in my pocket, just to pretend like I was normal still.
BTW, I asked the doc about CMV causing blindness -- he reports that he'd never heard of that. It causes "reticulitis" or inflammation of the retina, and "I guess that could lead to blindness", he said, but he's only seen three cases of that in over 20 years, and none of those three seemed to threaten vision loss. |
