It's Bilge's game, they should be the ones who think about this and solve the problems. But I'd say: generally, the abilities you get from 1st - 30th level are still abilities you'll use at 85th. As for respec-ing, that just shoves the problem back on the player. Are people seriously suggesting that a) it's totally impossible to make a game with a reasonable level progression for characters or b) this is the absolute best that Bilge can do and it's pointless to complain? I guess I don't care that much, the respec thing is at least a work-around - it just seems retarded.
