Everything in terms of spawning and trigger lines is toned down, and apart from the big set pieces it cribs some of the better ideas from Metal Gear Solid 4 in allowing you some interesting options within very constrained levels. U1 was unplayable to me past a certain point which mirrors your description of your experience, but I think I gave up sooner than you did. The story is the same kind of deal except that the megafans of the first can't stop whining about how terrible it is in comparison to U1, but normal people should have no problem with that. 2 is more of the good stuff with less of the bad, so it's win/win if you almost made it through the first. |
