1-1 alone already feels like one of the best levels I've played in anything. The pseudo-checkpointed level design works so well without making the level seem ridiculous, like they managed to hit every box on a design checklist without making any tradeoffs. The combat is SO GOOD, relying on tactics more than anything. I got whomped pretty hard by the first blue eye knight I ran into until I learned how to deal with him (he's slow, quick rapier shots destroy him. I'm sure there are other strategies). Turpentining my axe as I duck behind a pillar, then two-handing it while running around like a madman to kill legion was also fun.
2-1 has been a lot harder. I got killed by dogs I wasn't expecting because I moved forward too quickly and didn't have a crowd control weapon equipped (using rapier due to the guys there being weak to pierce). I also got totally raped by the flame chucking laughing guys, until I decided to actually spend the arrows needed to down them. In retrospect, I didn't need to kill any of them - they just hang out and chuck fire at you but don't really move or block the exits.
Anyhow, I love it.
