Tropico is really simple.
Select "build farm". The land will display as red and green. The farm will do well in the green areas. Build some food farms and some cash crop farms. Different crops like different conditions, so be prepared for the red/green areas to shift around when you change the selected crop.
After you do this, wait for your farms to put out some goods on the dock, then build houses. Then build a high school. Then build the specific factory for your cash crop. If people complain that they're unhealthy or bored or whatever, just build the specific amenity near to their homes. Alternately, build prisons and military outposts and repress the shit out of them. However, eventually your soldiers will want the nice stuff too, so the crackdown is kind of pointless.
If not enough people are showing up to work on your island, lower wages. If too many people are showing up, raise wages.
Everything else is just window dressing. |
