| 2K Games is staffed by chimps.
I played this game until it asked me to hack for the first time. According to this site, that's about 20 minutes into the game. Then I ran into the exact same bug: I changed my keybindings so the hacking interface didn't work. Wouldn't keybindings be high priority on the list of things not to fuck up? Kind of like Deus Ex 2 write-protecting the configuration file. Can you imagine if I were playing this game before the internet existed? I'd be done. I'd have no idea what was wrong, and I'm not the kind of person to go digging around through config files hunting for whatever setting looked like it might be related to what's broken, so I'd have to quit and return the game. I'd be in the car on my way to Babbages right now. The game looked nice and had some impressive production values for the 20 minutes I was allowed to play it, but I was too lazy to go edit the config file and started playing something else instead. Maybe they'll get around to patching it 6 months later to save me the trouble before I decide to play it again. |
