Another pointless digression by me: I had a very good friend die a couple years ago, and my brothers and I wanted access to his WOW account. We aren't related, and the guy had no living relatives except an uncle living god-knows-where and a useless alcoholic brother, so Blizzard told my brothers and I to go climb a tree. :( (Teldrassil I guess :( :( :( )

I'm not sure what we'd have done with his account, but still. (Several tasteless jokes omitted.)


I can only assume this is going to become more and more of an issue as more content is digitally "owned". Especially if/when the console makers transfer to mainly digital downloads in the next generation or 2. Luckily I knew my brother's password, but what happens when when someone thinks they own hundreds or thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of dollars of content, but then their family is locked out when they die? Should we all start putting our Xbox Live and Steam passwords in our wills?
