Hopefully you are something of a bartender, because I don't have precise recipes at hand.
Pink Gin:
Coat a cocktail glass with about 4 shakes of bitters, shake gin with ice and strain into glass. Pretend you're in the Royal Navy! Use Hendrick's and garnish with a cucumber.
Gin Gin Mule
To a Tom Collins glass add 3 or 4 chunks of candied ginger and 4 lime wedges. Muddle to death. Fill with ice, add 1 or 2 shots of gin, top with club soda and some mint. Shake and pour back into glass. Balance the flavor with some simple syrup and/or use sprite depending how you like your drinks.
Gin Fizz
Just cheat and use gin and lemon or lime tonic water
Gin and Bitter Lemon
Muddle 4-5 lemon wedges in a glass, fill with ice, add gin, a dash or two of bitters, and top with club soda. Shake and pour back into glass.
The success of any of this depends on the flavor of the gin and personal tastes. Remember that cocktails, especially in the summer, are best served cold. Pack the glass with ice and get a shaker to make them colder. |
