I don't have a bizarre or foreign name, but my last name is fairly unique and combined with my first name, which is normal but just uncommon enough, I am the #2 Google search result. And that result is a link to one of those sites that compiles information about people, so you get my age, address, phone number, all the addresses I've previously lived at, links to any Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc accounts, any photos that can be matched, and links to all my immediate relatives and their info. It's all public information, yeah, but still kind of uncomfortable that it's so neatly compiled in one place. So give your child the gift of a plain name. He can always change it. |
