In its drive to stop Iran gaining any ability to make nuclear weapons, the United States is ready to give European allies only until June to cajole Tehran before Washington seeks U.N. sanctions, U.S. diplomatic documents show.
...
Rohani also said Washington could do more to help the negotiations. During Bush's visit, European leaders tried to persuade him to join their diplomatic initiative.
The United States has so far refused to participate in a plan it believes is doomed to failure. But Bush said he would at least think about actively joining forces with the Europeans.
He's going to mull it over.
So does anyone here think Iran will not be invaded within 12 months? Doomed to failure talks get doomed, and it's June at the UN, Russia vetos the US proposal, "the UN has failed and is antiquated!" as forces pile up outside of Iran while UN talks continue as if war was still only an option. Condi Rice holds up satellite photos of enrichment plants and... tubes, Cox and Forkum draw a cartoon of a smoking gun.
But surely there can't be a another campaign in the middle east, right? Aren't the forces spread too thin as it is?
