SO my mobo decided it was time to check out. I need a new one, and maybe a new case and power supply, and possibly new RAM. and I would put up with a new processor, but the old one is fine. So is the old memory. But maybe also a new HD.
The current processor is socket 775, current memory is 2GB and DDR2.
To a certain extent I need to keep costs down, but it's easy to justify a little extra expense for quality, especially reliability.
Optimally everything costs around $200-$250. Top end: $350.
In order of importance:
mobo
memory if necessary
case - doesn't need a ton of slots,
power supply - current is 500-550W I think
hard drive
new processor if it's really that big a deal
legit copy of winxp
