| An example, one of dozens:
so there's a community chat, and Insane is almost always there. There was another guy that was almost always there - we've met him before, Mr. Perfect Japanese Waifu. Both dudes love to argue about fandom minutiae. One night they got into a fucking furious argument about whether Dissidia was a fighting game or a beat 'em up. Insane said fighting game, Waifu said beat 'em up. Let me tell you what I don't care about: I don't care about who's right. Don't even bother telling me. The two them trashed the chat for 40 minutes spamming furious arguments at each other. Spiralled into Insane saying things like how he was one of the top three Fighting Game X players in the umscow do-nothing european country he lives in, THEREFORE he is correct; and Waifu saying things like well Dissidia has this one feature that is blah blah bloo bloo fuck if I know I stopped reading after a while. Insane eventually started to make the argument more and more personal, pursuing Waifu's weaknesses in re: public face, and Waifu eventually leaves the chat and refuses to come back. So, what does Insane do. He proceeds to IM Waifu with arch pseudo-apologies (btw Insane is the guy who broke my "I'm sorry your feelings were hurt" cherry, so he does this shit to everyone, even people who can obviously break him in half.) Waifu then proceeds to swear that he'll NEVER come back. This is a bigger problem than it initially looks like, since Waifu, for all his flaws, is a very active poster who has lots of friends in the community and whose officious, self-interested contributions to chat are balanced out by his willingness to talk to absolutely anyone and listen for as long as it takes to earn His Turn. Don't knock it, man. Waifu will talk to people I would never fucking touch. So I have to delicately patch shit back up with him... In the meantime, what is Insane doing? Regaling all of chat with stories about how badly Waifu took his "apology" and how stuck-up and difficult he is and bloooooooo FART. Never mind that Insane is a mod and already elevated to position of king shit of fuck mountain by mine own hand - he is a fucking drama queen and needs must have public and profuse acknowledgment from everyone else in chat that he was right and Waifu was wrong. Fucking christ. Such an SB move. And when chat gives him the silent treatment, he starts to shit up MY IM screen demanding attention and asspats for his dickwaving. Anyway, Tuesday! He's out. Waifu did come back to chat a month later after I kissed his ass until my lips were chapped. Chat is much nicer when Waifu is in it, and better still when Insane isn't there at all. |
