| So the laptop I am borrowing prior to deployment, an HP pavilion ze 4300, has bee working alright until now. It now refuse to renew IP addresses, either through cable or wireless internet connections. In ipconfig it gives me 169.xxx, and ipconfig release does nothing. According to the tech guy at my internet company, my card is busted, since it was working fine earlier.
So, can I just get a pci ethernet card and use that instead? Will I have to hand-deactivate the existing nonfunctional one? Will xp do these things for me? |
