Ironic is rain on your wedding day. I don't know what *you* are talking about.
That NeoCons, usually the bunch you associate with the grand polluters of the world, want YOU, the american public, driving hybrid vehicles, you cerebral palsy victim.
This is a weird policy for old-skool conservatives, but not for neocons. Neoconservatism is the brainchild of the Project for a new American century think tank, of which Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Perle are founding members (and Wolfowitz, Jeb Bush, Steve Forbes, and Dan Quayle, and many others are all heavily involved,) whose policy is to fill the power gap left by the Soviet Union and secure the US's position as the sole world superpower through military power.
Among the things they've been calling for for years (prior to 9/11) is an invasion of Iraq to establish a more stable american hold on the world's oil supplies and to lessen our dependence on the saudis. Now that recent events have shown their "greeted with flowers and out in six months" theory to be somewhat... unrealistic, a few probably started to realize what environmentalists have been saying for well over a decade, that the best way to reduce foreign oil dependence is to cut domestic oil use. |
