| I'm marveling at the fact that there's an MMO with LOOOORE that I give two shits about. And that it proceeds from the plot in Star Trek XI: Pointless Lens Flare and doesn't suck. So, that's pretty good, right? But you can't do barrel roles in your pretty space ship, so that's not so great.
Other minuses: no crafting skillz, although I was impressed when I saw an engineer guy throw down a turret and a shield and a forcefield while just screwing around. 2 character slots, and it's rumored that Cryptic will charge REAL LIFE MONEY for more. >: [ Bugs. I had to abandon a buggy quest and enter a tech support ticket. No big deal, really, I got another quest and moved on. But it was a little frustrating. But at this point, the odds of encountering some kind of bug in the first 10 hours are about 100% Server capacity and random server kicks: this is a bummer. Server capacity is supposed to increase very soon, but over the weekend there were fairly long queues to get on. Meanwhile, the server sometimes just drops you for no reason. Combine the two, and you have some very irritated customers. Again, like bugs, hopefully a problem that will be resolved very soon. There was a limit on how many times I could rename my Constipation ship. Why. Not even a "this time for free, next time this much (make believe money)". WTF. Still, it's a game where I can pretend to explore with a space ship from Star Trek and a crew of busty ensigns. Positive so far. |
