NUMBER ON ENEMY SOIL: 2
NUMBER OF NUKE DETONATIONS ON SOVIET SOIL: 715
NUMBER ON ENEMY SOIL: 0
...and the punchline is: *(ACTUAL FIGURES). Haha?
I hate that lazy comedy style of "here are some interesting facts... DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS". What's to be said about 2 and 0 enemy soil detonations? That the US and Soviet Union had amazing RESTRAINT? That Mutual Assured Destruction totally objectively WORKED? Maybe he means to say that Harry Truman was a monster who used 100% of his nuclear arsenal, while every US president since then and every Soviet leader have been amazing peace mongers, holding back the tidal wave of nukes? Yeah, I guess he means that.
Also many of those 1054 tests were not on American soil, but in the Pacific Marshall Islands. Bikini Atoll and all that. If you want to be a jerk about it. AND I DO. |
