that person is in charge of keeping things flowing, feeling like a natural conversation, and shifting focus off of someone if they're starting to lose the thread or make an ass of themselves. personally I'd keep your "future of IF" kindle/tablet stuff close to the surface, try and introduce it just a little bit and see if someone bites -- then you have created an opportunity for yourself to hold forth on thoughts you've already composed. just don't try to force it, or it looks obvious. everyone else will probably be trying to do the same thing -- move focus to their own sweet spots -- so it's a delicate dance. |
