The album of the year was "Darkness Come Alive" by Doomriders.
And the music lives up to that album cover! TURN IT UP: Here's one of the more pensive ballads about not letting the fuckers grind you down: I almost gave 2009 to Kylessa's "Static Tensions" or Shrinebuilder's S/T, or (yawn) Mastodon's "Crack the Skye", but then I heard Darkness Come Alive. You should probably listen to Mean Everything to Nothing if you're too much of a fag for Doomriders. I don't mean that as a diss, some people are just fags and this is another great album. The best non-Doomriders single of the year was "Crown on the Ground (soiled)" by Sleigh Bells. Their other songs are not nearly as good as this unfortunately: Your speakers are not broken. Best song title that I discovered this year: "Crappy Shop (50 Cent diss track) - Forensics.mp3" |
