| A game where you lead a squad of republicans around tactically operating the guts out of liberal insects and politically correct droids.
But really it's like an FPS where you command a squad, and it's like the most streamlined thing ever. If there's a thing to blow up, you just look at hit and hit use, and one of your dudes runs up to plant an explosive. Need to "slice" (hack) a door or something, hit use. Breaching a doorway, look at it and hit use (one of them even throws a grenade in after the door opens). Want your guys to take cover behind a rock, look at it and hit use. Your guys need to heal, look at the bacta station and hit use. One of your guys is downed and you don't want to rez them, look at them and hit use. All of these things you can do yourself and don't require your squad members to do. If you do it yourself, your squad members shoot enemies(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). There are actually many many little bits where your guys hack things, breach doors, hack shutters closed to keep enemies out, hack gates open, hack force fields, blow up generators, blow up barricades, blow up other objective type objects. I was fuckin SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!! when I got downed by enemies, and decided to take a chance and tell them to just revive me. Instead of them trying to revive me with dangerous tough super droids around fucking them up, them getting fucked up and nothing good coming out of it, my squad guys fired at enemies while one revived me and I actually got back up and lived and we fuckin fought through a tough fight. This doesn't happen all the time in the game, sometimes you just get wiped out, but you actually have a chance. It's like that Medal of Honor Pacific Thing where they tried the same thing but it was a fucking disaster, except in this it's not a fucking disaster and is really fun and extremely intuitive and streamlined. Also you operate like motherfuckers and are fuckin operating operations constantly, using tactics and chooking your guns and shit. The only negative so far is that it doesn't have a widescreen resolution. Also in the main menu for some reason the mouse starts off as really sensitive. |
