There were no controller-throwing moments, like in the original. Regrettably this seems to have gone hand in hand with some sort of reduction in difficulty. Or something, I don't know if it was necessarily easier but each assassination was over fairly quickly without much work. The villa is a nice distraction, other than that you will soon be overflowing with money and nothing to buy with it after you've done the upgrades. I was disappointed that Rome was not mapped out, and instead a forgettable swamp (Fiora? Flora? Something) location was used instead which you only spend about five minutes in before departing for Venice, only to return for two codex pages and a tomb sigil.

Plot-wise, this game was like getting fucked by Dan Brown in the face. The actual plot of the historical figure flows rather well and resembles your standard hero quest of innocence, loss, growth, etc. But the overarching present-day plot over it is still just as terrible as in the first game. The Truth video bits are not worth working through, you know where it's going after maybe three snippets. For once however the gameplay is so much better that I didn't really mind. Disarming a guy of his spear or halberd, and then taking that weapon and stabbing him in the neck with it is just plain awesome. Leaping off a building and nailing two guys in the face with hand-blades is awesome. Poisoning a guy and watching him drunkenly swing his broadsword around, killing his three companions is awesome. Shooting people with a literal HAND gun is awesome. The ending is terrible.
