The Suffering 2: Plight of the Poor by FABIO 02/05/2005, 12:41am PST
from a preview in Game Informer

The original game was all about the horrors of prison. The sequel will focus on the horrors of poverty.

Where as the original featured prison as a setting, the upcoming sequel will take place in the slums of Baltimore.

I've been to Baltimore twice. I still think New England gets the nod for "ugly capital of America", but damn if the citizens of Baltimore don't make it the ugliest city. Both times the best I ever spotted would be a 6 anywhere else. So I guess a horror game taking place entirely in Baltimore could be pretty scarey.

But thank god somebody's in the game industry is giving a voice to the underpriviledged. I think that message was a little too subtle in Knights of the Old Republic.

What's this? Screenshots of the same enemies from the first game? Since the first game's enemies were all modelled off of prison execution, I'd like to offer up my own ideas to better fit in with the whole poverty theme

- All blood will be replaced by red ink
- Zombified repo men
- IRS auditors, with fountain pens for hands
- Noose enemies replaced by former dot com millionares
- Two player mode lets players take the roles of Jhoh and Jsoh Cable as they battle their financial demons of videogames and nicotine in an effort to move out of the house.
- 50 foot tall One Good Finger as final boss
