Finally saw REC. My measurements indicate that it is 2.5 times as good as Quara by Fullofkittens 10/25/2009, 8:59pm PDT REC is so awesome that it's still awesome even though I saw an inferior shot-for-shot remake of it last year. Way scarier! Figure that one out. Apparently film really is a director's medium. BONUS: Quarantine somehow made the ending incomprehensible, even though they all they had to do was just refilm the exact same movie in English with crappier acting and a suspiciously glossy shakycam. For those who are keeping score, I am the guy that says that the original Japanese horror movies are never really superior to the US remakes. The original REC is FAR SUPERIOR to Quarantine and even if you've seen Quarantine it's worth checking out the original.
