Let me preface this by saying that I've never played Battlefield 1942, so if this is supposed to be the Star Wars version of this, I have no idea if it succeeds or fails etc.
Anyway, I like this game. The demo is you and your three buddies. All of you have voices and it took me at least 3 or 4 minutes to figure out that I was the one who sounded like a gentle British liberal arts professor. There are a lot of cool touches like when you stuff your magic Star Wars knife into the face of enemies, they grenly explode all over your visor and an electronic wind shield wiper comes out and cleans it off. I guess it's rather linear, but the demo isn't even an enitre mission. One thing I do like is that the game doesn't baby you. If you aren't careful, the fuckers will swarm from out of nowhere (just like in real war, I'm told) and grenade your ass into the ground. Directing your squad to do stuff like blow up doors and set up in sniper positions only works in certain preset places where the game allows you to do it. Available at your local file front. |
