I don't understand why people are having a problem with this point.

I'm not talking about game engines, I'm talking about emotional involvement. Dude was trying to pull "nobody gets emotionally involved in games like they do with movies" and I am straight up demonstrating that they certainly fucking do get emotionally involved with games like they do with movies, and I will show you an entire roster of RP Sephiroths that pre-date Advent Children to prove it, and it has nothing to do with exquisite in-game visuals.

If you REALLY wanted to argue this point, you should say "but Zseni FF7's graphics were kind of groundbreaking at the time, so this situation is more congruous to Robert's contention than you'd like to think." But instead everyone wants to talk about how Sephiroth is gay. Fucking fine.
